Drake, the butler, opened the door to the mansion.
Velma and Jayson walked into the mansion. They were eagerly looking forward to Izzabella’s tea party. Drake led them into the living room. Izzabella was there, setting out the cups and saucers on a table in front of the flat-screen TV.
They all sat down on chairs. They started to chat in the elegant room. Drake brought in a tray filled with butterscotch crumpets and chocolate chip cookies. There was a teapot on the tray as well as a golden spoon, which had been in the family for generations, a spoon that was worth $4,918,478.26.
Velma grabbed a butterscotch crumpet. She took a bite.
Suddenly she started choking on the crumpet. Jayson rushed to her aid. In running to Velma, though, he bumped into Drake, causing the tray to go flying, sending the teapot floating into the air, with hot tea spilling onto Izzabella’s new dress, causing her to stand up and scream. She fell onto Velma, who had recovered from her choking episode.
There was chaos in the living room. There was pandemonium. It lasted for 269 seconds. And when order was restored, Izzabella noticed that the spoon was missing.
She called the police. In a short time, Det. Daphne arrived at the mansion.
She was told what had happened. She searched for clues. Then she questioned the suspects.
Det. Daphne noted that Velma’s jewelry shop was headed for bankruptcy. She also mentioned that Jayson made a living selling items on eBay. Then there was Drake, who was underpaid by Izzabella. And of course, there was Izzabella, who might have wanted to frame someone.
